Memorial Day Special - 50% Off Entree with Military ID

So Memorial day is coming up. What does that mean to you?

"Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I." - Wikipedia

We would like to say a special thank you to those that are going above and beyond, protecting our country and allowing us to have the freedom we have today. If not for them, Yojie would not be what we are today, the many opportunities would be a mere dream. In appreciation to those that have both served and are currently serving (Active Duty) in the armed forces, the least we could do is to offer you this special: 50% off an entree with a Military ID

We will always remember those that have given up their lives for our freedom.

New Cafe Hours with Free Wi/Fi

Okay, so we've been pretty busy in developing some new ideas and I am proud to present one of many to come:

Cafe Hours 7 days a week from 11:00am - 5:30pm at our Los Angeles location

What's so special? Well first have you tried our Japanese floats? They're like root beer floats (but better!) using Japanese Ramune Soda in four flavors with a choice of Vanilla or Green Tea ice cream. They are all really good, but I personally think the Original Ramune Soda with Vanilla ice cream is the best one.

But that's not the special thing about cafe hours. We are proud to announce that we're joining the modern era: Free WiFi. So come by and hang out while enjoying many of our unique beverages from Japanese sodas to our signature iced green tea. Whether you're a working professional or student, you'll find just what you need to relax, research or do work. If your in the mood for ice coffee or want a quiet place to review before a class, Yojie can be your solution in your daily routine.

Also our Happy Hours have moved to a more convenient time:
Monday - Sunday 5:30pm - 7:00pm

So when you're done doing our work or studying, feel free to stick around and enjoy many of our amazing specials.

Keep your eyes peeled for new specials and promotions. Thanks for your continuous support!
You can follow us on Twitter or Facebook (or both).

Yojié is 'In Bloom'

Yojié LA is proud to present our very first art show, titled "In Bloom" on Friday May 28th with new works by Codak. This event will be sponsored by Sapporo Premium Japanese Beer. There will also be a Sake Sommelier on site to conduct a very special, premium sake tasting ($30 dollars for premium sake tasting wristband)

Artist Bio:

First touched earth in Stillwater, OK., received misinformation and miseducation in Portland Or., followed family roots from the NW all throughout the mid-west. Landing currently back on the left-coast in Los Angeles.

From a family background in Architecture and Interior Design Codak developed a fascination with "line", its quality, ambiguity and emotion. Associated with early experiences doodling his favorite comic book characters, falling off his skateboard and riding the bus, he would find himself caught by the Graffiti bug. Noticing first the Random Symbols of "Zely" a graffiti writer active in the mid-late 80's in his native Portland. Followed shortly by exposure to "Spray Can Art" and a group or writers from LA who set him on the path that got him where he is today.

Codak’s work is defined by an acute sense of how to utilize space & composition in an organic fashion all the while maintaining a constructed approach with a mixed media base. Although highly adept and respected in the world of “Street Art”, the works spread the field, pulling from his childhood exposure to the world of modern art/architecture and in more recent year his pursuits as a graphic designer and illustrator. Viewers from all sides of the visual spectrum can find something to relate too. The subtle use of color intermixed with what has been described as line work that resembles “Muscle stretched across bone”. To his more highly illustrative clashes with graphic design and street art. Within the last several years as the artist is in constant progression the need to incorporate these different influences into a cohesive whole is becoming more apparent.

The Artist’s resume base continues to expand as he has worked with clients like NOKIA, The Sanrio Corporation (Hello Kitty), MGAEntertainment, Pepsi Street Motion, Fat Possum Records and DUB Magazine. As well showing his work all over the world from Los Angeles, Chicago, NYC, Montreal to London and Slovakia.

Cans have been emptied, Paint brushes have been abused, Markers overfilled, pencils broken, Buff paint spilled, Computer screens burned out, hard drives fried....... Still in hot pursuit of progression.

SAKE to me.

Did you know SAKE is a form of rice wine? But unlike true wine, in which alcohol is produced by fermenting the sugar naturally present in fruit, sake is made through a brewing process more like beer. So before you start using your own rice to start making cheap alcohol be sure to tune in for more tips on Sake brewing/tasting.

For those who want to take the easy way.....

Happier Hours

A witty Mother's day quote written by some guy in a cubicle ought to show her my appreciation! Think again people. How about another bouquet of roses? Sadly, the sentiment dies with the flowers. Give the 'queen of your heart' the lasting impression of a special lunch or dinner at Yojié!

On the Sunday May 9th, Yojié Japanese Fondue and Sake Bar is giving Moms FREE Bottomless Sake Sangria all day long and to top it off, 50% OFF all Desserts. It's what shes been anticipating all year long besides you moving out...
